Painful Intercourse(Dyspareunia)

Dr. Narender Singh Tanwar tells about Dyspareunia,its reasons and treatment.......
PAIN DURING INTERCOURSE.....When woman feel pain during intercourse due to failure of vagina to relax and decrease of love flow from vagina, this condition is known as dyspareunia.woman whom encountered this have sexual desire they are not frigid but dificulty and pain is sex make them more anxious resulting in more tightening of there vagina making condition more sever .they tighten there pelvic muscle in start of sex that make there vagina canal more tight aggravating the diseaes.
Cause of painful intercourse (dyspereunia) are:
1.Lack of lubrication-This can be due to nervousness, hang-ups and failure to relax. Unskilled 'foreplay' by the man is a common cause because some woman like to have more foreplay . if woman like to have half an hour foreplay and get just 10 minutes will not get properly lubricated.
2. Menopausal or post-menopausal dryness:due to fall in hormaonal level in late forities woman feel dryness of vagina beside other symptom of post menopause syndrome. Treatment with HRT pills or or hormone cream will usually And ordinary sex lubricants will help too.
3.Vaginal infections-These are very common.
4.Injury
5.Genital warts-These are awfully common in these days of fairly promiscuous sex. Occasionally the warts can cause pain, especially if they get infected.
6.Vulvitis-This means inflammation of the vulva (the opening to the vagina). It can be due to all sorts of causes, including chemicals in bubble-baths or soaps.
7.Haematoma of the clitoris- It's a bruise (or collection of blood) in the clitoris, caused by excessive friction.
8.Urethral caruncle-This is a tender patch that develops at the urinary opening.
9.Foreign body in the vagina-The usual culprit is a forgotten tampon. It may cause pain, especially if the tampon causes an infection.
10.Cancer-A rare cause of intercourse pain. But it must be borne in mind in a woman who develops this kind of pain for the first time after the age of 40.

11. vaginismus: last but most important . this is spasm of vaginal muscle that tight vagina
TREATMENT:treatment usually comprise of surgery, medicine and pshycocounselling and use of dilators and lubricants.
